What’s a Divinity School and how might it be a choice you might consider for after your time at UW-Madison?

Divinity schools, seminaries, and theological schools are some of the institutions that offer graduate and professional training focusing on religion. But they aren’t all the same. They offer a range of purposes, perspectives and programs.

Harvard Divinity School (@HarvardDivinity) is a nonsectarian school of religious and theological studies that educates students both in the pursuit of the academic study of religion and in preparation for leadership in religious, governmental, and a wide range of service organizations. With more than 45 faith traditions represented in the student body and 500+ recurring worship services, HDS is the most religiously pluralistic divinity school in the world. Their four degree programs lead to infinite pathways, with alums in every field and industry, who value ethical leadership, religious literacy, and service-oriented, mission-driven work.

If you’d like to learn more about this in general and specifically about one of the premier academic centers that trains scholars, clergy, and people of many different career interests, walks of life and religious (or not) perspectives, take this opportunity for conversation with someone in the know who put together a not-so-obvious career path via attending divinity school.

HDS Director of Admissions Odeviz Soto will be on campus to talk with students on September 27, 2:00 – 4:00p.m., in the Religious Studies Conference Room 332, Bradley Memorial Building, 1225 Linden Dr. Please note that this is not an open drop-in session; Appointments must be reserved in advance. See the link embedded below.

Odeviz Soto is also happy to meet with interested faculty, academic staff and HDS alums.
