2023 Ojibwe Winter Games coming to Madison this February!

Religious Studies Affiliate Professor Dr. Thomas A. Dubois (Folklore and German, Nordic, and Slavic +) is helping to bring the 2023 Ojibwe Winter Games to Madison! On Friday, February 3rd from 3PM to Sundown, stop by Lake Mendota near Dejope Lawn to play snow snake, hoop and spear, and more! The Opening Welcome will be held in the Mendota Room of Dejope Hall (640 Elm Drive, Madison, WI 53706).

The Lac du Flambeau Ojibwe Winter Games celebrate and sustain traditional winter sports. Founder and educator Wayne Valliere and associates will bring the games of snow snake, hoop and spear, and atlatl to the shores of Lake Mendota for all who wish to learn and play.
