“Religion is not the only phenomena that creates values, but it certainly is one of the most important. We hope that studying religion will help us understand how values are created.”
The Religious Studies Program would like to extend its warmest congratulations to Prof. Charles L. Cohen on his retirement, as well as its collective gratitude for his tireless work on behalf of our Program and discipline. Prof. Cohen was instrumental in creating the Religious Studies Major as Director of Religious Studies in 2000.
A beloved teacher of American religious history, Prof. Cohen retired at the end of Fall 2017. He will continue to write and research, but will attend fewer meetings!
